	6. Santa Monica Beach Mural

					This mural stretches across the entire side of a 4-story parking structure in downtown Santa Monica CA. In Santa Monica, a beachside town, the downtown area is separated from the beach by the Palisades cliffs. The mural brings a collection of images of life on the beach up into the city, connecting the urban downtown with the more relaxed and open life of the beach. Commissioned by the Milken Family Foundation, the mural adorns a wall across an open space from their office building. Office workers look out their windows, and instead of a blank wall they see scenes, both historical and present-day, of life and activities on the beach.
