This mural, in Lompoc CA, is a Mural-In-A-Day project. It was
painted in entirely in one day by Art and a group of 15 volunteer
artists.
Art designed the mural, laid it out on the wall, pre-mixed all
the colors, and directed the volunteers as they painted it from
start to finish on one Saturday.
The mural commemorates the planting of a huge American flag by
one of the local flower seed companies as a patriotic gesture
during World War Two.
Huell Howser, host of the California's Gold program on PBS stations,
filmed a program about the making of the mural during the day's
activity.
