A History of Long Beach
This photo shows a portion of the large central image in the mural. Here we see the very beginnings of Long Beach as a resort, in about 1907. At that time the trolley line arrived in Long Beach, and people could easily come to visit or stay, so this stretch of beach near the end of the trolley line developed into an amusement zone. Here we see the original Long Beach Bath House and other buildings north of the Pine Street Pier, in the area that later developed into the Long Beach Pike.
